Germany 2013 F: Baden-Württemberg – Monastery of Maulbronn

The cistercian monastery of Maulbronn is a former cistercian abbey in the center of Maulbronn.  Since December 1993, it has been recognized as World Heritage Site by UNESCO. On the coin, you can see the image of the so-called “Paradise”, the porch of the monastry’s church, which was built around 1220.
On the left of the coin, there’s the image of the washing fountain, which was constructed in 1878.
At the top of the coin, you see the year, and on the right side, the mintmark A, D, F, G or J. Below you see the inscription “Baden-Württemberg“ and the country code D.
